Very few basketball players have had the success that Shawn Steward had in her four years at the university. Her name is written throughout the record book. Steward was the first Lehigh woman to break the 1,000-point mark in basketball in career points and she was a four-time East Coast Conference first-team all-star performer. She still ranks No. 2 among the Engineer scoring leaders with 1,638 points. Steward still has the best scoring average in Lehigh history with a 16.2 average in four years. Steward also recorded the most steals over a career in Lehigh history with 278 and is second in assists with 471.
