He won a World Cup Gold Medal in 1978 and a silver in 1979. Already inducted into the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, Lieberman struck for gold in the 1978 Pan American Championships.

A former television analyst with ABC and CBS, Lieberman received the Lehigh Alumni Association's Undergraduate Merit Award in 1979 and has been a past member of the school's Alumni Association Board of Directors. Formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Lieberman-Appalucci Inc., he's now a director of Interspace, Inc., the nation's largest ad agency serving airport accounts.

"What is most important (about the honor) is to be part of a very special group of Lehigh champions," says Lieberman. "These are people who have done well both in competition and in their subsequent careers. It is a real honor to be a part of this. There are a lot of other guys out there who deserve this as much as I do."
