Fans looking for 'feel good' anecdotes and home improvement segments need look no further than Marty Lynn. Entering his senior year with a 3-11 record (3-8 in duals), Marty tied 2x Iowa State All-American Bob Antonacci to help spark Lehigh to a dramatic 17-17 tie with the Cyclones in Grace Hall. The LU team went without Mike Frick that day, who had been pinned by Antonacci at a prior NCAA tourney.
Entering the EIWA Tourney in Annapolis later that year, Lynn was now 11-16 for his career but battled his way to the finals and finished second at 126. His upset success no doubt inspired his teammates, who won the other seven finals bouts for Lehigh in an overwhelming effort which set a new league standard.
