Tom Hutchinson

Bio: High school state place winner in Illinois; 2-time Lehigh intramural champion. Hardly the normal recipe for becoming a 2-time EIWA champion and 1971 All-American, earning 6th place at 190 lbs (one weight above your normal one). But this is what Tom accomplished in just two full seasons on the Brown & White varsity.

Twice a surprise roster appearance ('70 and '71), Tom was just 2-3 as an unseeded EIWA entry in Annapolis in his junior year. But he destroyed eventual NCAA runner-up Emil Deliere en route to his first league title--then incredibly won a District title and reached the NCAA semifinals before losing to '72 Olympic Gold medalist, Ben Peterson of Iowa State.

End result: a 32-10 record his final two seasons, before many years of service to wrestling as head coach at Blair Academy, then 12 years coaching at Lehigh.
