A scrappy proponent of the Granby Roll, "Ice" became captain of the 1971 LU team and leader of the Beta Theta Pis, after his finest season (1970) when he finished 11-5-3 and place 3rd at Easterns at 134 lbs.
He's best remembered for his wild and wooly ride of Oklahoma's Joe Boone that earned him a 6-4 victory at the LU Quadrangle in Dec. '69.
His wrestling contributions weren't finished, however, becoming one of the best-ever head coaches in Div. III, winning over 400 duals meet for the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State). That record is still ongoing as of 2005.
